the ART of living
As you zip through the this collage of Diana's work, remember it's the creative output of one artist! That's astounding, not only measured by the number of works she has created over the last few years, but also because of her diversity. From a Show of Hands, to the McMono series, to Where are the Pigs Where are they? to her latest exhibition Sunday Tea covers an impressive range, and there have been many stand-alone works completed that aren't even represented in this drive-by viewing.
Art is not just what you see on the gallery walls. It's a lifestyle. The Fort Gallery has been the centre of Diana's collaborative network for several years. This contemporary collective nurtures its members, as they wrestle with the emotional and technical challenges of being artists. What a home she has found there! It's with regret that she's moved away from the Fort Langley area, so her connection to the gallery will be from a distance. But I don't imagine Diana will ever completely leave a venue that share's the distinction - from an artistic point of view - of being 'the birthplace of BC'.
